ANTI-RAGGING CELL

Ragging means engaging in any act, by disorderly conduct, to a student of educational institution, which causes or likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raising apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to that student and includes.

1. Teasing, abusing or paying practical jokes on, or causing hurt to such student or.

2. Asking a student to do any act or perform something which such student will not, in the ordinary course willingly, do as per the Kerala Prohibition of Ragging act 1998 and UGC regulations 2009

National College of Arts and Science, Puliyavu is a ZERO TOLERANCE ZONE for ragging and connected activities including indiscipline.

All sorts of activities that come under the definition of ragging whether inside the campus or outside the campus will be dealt with as per law in force and the names of those who indulge in ragging will be handed over to the police authorities within 24 hours and those students will be suspended immediately from the college.An offence of Ragging may be charged either on a written complaint by the affected or on independent finding of the Anti-Ragging Cell.

The College is bound by the UGC Regulations on ‘Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009’. The college has founded an Anti – Ragging Cell which governs the prevention of any means of Ragging either within or outside the college. All students admitted to the college and their parents are hereby informed to go through the guidelines on anti-ragging:

It is mandatory for all the students and parents to submit an affidavit in the prescribed format given on

and submit the affidavit on the day of admission at the college office. Failing to comply with the above requirements will result in cancellation of admission. Please note that there are two affidavits – one to be submitted by the student and another to be submitted by the parent.

This institution has always remained against such heinous offences as ragging and will always be plighted to remain so. Upholding the ethical values of education is the prime concern of this institution. Hence we request all the students to keep away from all the activities (physical acts, verbal harassing, threatening looks, body languages and gestures etc.) which can be counted as ragging and it is advocated that students should remain vigilant to avoid penal actions which include rigorous imprisonment etc.
